Pepper say this is a lawless, God forsaken land. Chisum says “No sir. Sooner or later the law comes to everywhere and you find out that God was already there.

God is already there.
I guess the thing I would like to remind us is just that. God is already there. When covid hit it turned the world that we knew upside down. We had to learn to do thinks different. It was like going into a new Frontier. A place we’ve never been before. Just like the frontier of the old west a lot of times it seems like a wilderness.
I think that we can even get more personal than that. I’m sure I’m not alone in feeling alone. At times we don’t know what to do or where to turn. We feel like we are in a God forsaken land. We see the things that are happing in the world and things don’t make sense. Sin has become so normal that has someone trying not to sin we feel like we are the only one left sometimes. What does tomorrow hold for me.

Elijah, the prophet that went up against Jezebel and Ahab and all her priest. He called fire down from heaven and the very next thing he is off alone saying to God “I am the only one left”. God does remind him that he is not alone. For one thing God is there in that still small voice.

That’s why I think we need reminding sometimes that God is already there. It does not matter where we are going or what we may have to go through God is already there. He is in our yesterday. He is in our today. And you can rest assured he is in our Tomorrow. God is already there.

The Psalmist David said it better then I can.

Psalm 139:1, O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2, Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3, Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4, For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
5, Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6, Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
7, ¶ Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8, If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9, If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10, Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
11, If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
12, Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
13, For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
